i just bought a c4 with transbrake. installed it and it works in every gear but whines really bad at idle in park and nuetural. and wines a little in 1st. but if you hit the transbrake button it goes away. and it doesnt whine in reverse, 2nd or 3rd. any ideas what this is .

Is it like a pump whine or maybe a valve noise since it varies with gear selection. Maybe put a pressure gauge on and see what you got.Maybe high line pressure causing a valve noise?????

it sounds like a power steering pump when low on fluid. other thing i thought was odd was that i was only able to put a bout a half of quart in the converter when i installed it and i took a long time for fluid to go into the converter

The converter will fill as soon as engine is started. Trans is full of oil i assume. If it was a pump whine i think it would be thee all the time .

yes the trans is full. i first had 7 quarts in and the stick said it was full but i read in my manual a c4 with a 10 inch converter should take 8 and a half so i put in another two and the whine was still there and dipstick is showing way full. is this to much fluid or is it just not getting somewhere like not filling converter.
