g/box sat for about 2 months, installed it the other day and it wont change out of 1st when in drive, manually it will go 1st=1st, 2nd=2nd, then when go into drive it changes back down to 1st. i have checked the vacuum line and there is heaps there, i removed the tail shaft and freed up a relief valve in there. ive heald the kickdown in both direction. every thing ive tryed so far has made no difference at all. any suggestions would be great thanks.

I had a similar problem with my C4 about a year ago. I replaced the vacuum modulator as they are fairly cheap, and it fixed my problem. I took the old one apart and it was useless as it was completely clogged up. I am assuming that when you say the vacuum was good that you were refering to the line?
