I have a combo of 460 and C6 from a '73 Lincoln Continental now fitted in a different car.
I understand there are 2 versions of C6 determined by the length of the tailshafts,17.5" and 13.5"
I want to replace my longer C6 with a shorter one. Will this be a direct swap, apart from the propshaft ? Is the rear mounting in the same place ? Are there any other differences ?
Also which cars should I look to as a donor and do I need the torque convertor or can I use my exsisting one.
Thanks guys
Daz

Everything is the same other than the output shaft and ext housing. The rear mounts are different but so some fabrication will be required. The short housing uses a normal mount like all other ford transmissions ,the long one is unique.

Something I hadn't considered.
The C6 doesn't have a seperate bellhousing so did the 460 motor ever come with the shorter C6 or is the bellhousing the same for other engines ?
