My C6 behind the 460 is shifting up into 2nd a bit later than i'd like, and into 3rd gear much too early - that is, low in the rpms. Is adjusting the band the solution to my problems? Should I tighten or loosen it or is it supposed to always be set to the specs in my handly little repair manual - 12 ft lbs then turn 1/4 turn back (or something like that, I don't have the book with me)
thanks for any help you can offer!

It definitely won't hurt to check the band adjustment as this directly affects the 2 + 3 shifts..Go with tighten the adjuster nice and snug and back 1 turn..The early upshift into 3rd can be adjusted with the modulator.Screw in will make the 2-3 shift a bit later..

I think the C6 band adjustment is the same as a C4 or close to it. I would snug the band again and back it off a minimum of 1 1/2 turns. And yes, the band adjustment can affect the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift as this band is what creates 2nd gear.
