Hi Guys,

Can anyone advise what the allowable wear is on a 351 camshaft thrust plate as Im thinking about refitting my old one as it looks in good condition.

Only very slight wear is acceptable,maybe .002" max. What I do is lay some fine grit sand paper on a piece of glass and sand the plate smooth.Works well and is cheaper and easier than getting a different plate.

Measure your camshaft endplay same as you do with a crank. Cam endplay should be somewhere around .002" - .007" if I remember correctly.
