I'm getting a bit confused here... In one document, I am led to believe that the 64 500XL (390 automatic) only came with the 4-barrel carb. Yet, another document implies a 2 barrel also. Which is right?

The 390 did only come 4 barrel in 64, 2 codes P and Z. That is for 64, 65 had a 2 barrel version @250 hp's. This is from a book on reading casting #'s etc so it is pretty accurate.

That's the beauty about FE's, is that 95% of everything interchanges as well, say even if you had a 352 which came 2V intake.
