A guy at work has a 6.0 with "The Juice With Attitude." It's about 800 bucks for the whole setup, but has a really nice digital interface / monitor that mounts to the A-pillar. It can be programmed to automatically back off when the exhaust gas temps get too high. See this link:

I think a lot depends on how much towing you do and what weight. I'm running a 2001 Cummins HO w/6spd and have more than enought power towing light or empty.

The biggest draw back on chips is if you have too high of a setting you'll send your turbo temps out of sight when you start towing heavy loads. When I tow it's usually in excess of 14,000lbs and the chip will have to be set back giving me less than 50ft/lbs of additional torque.

I really don't see the benefits of chips for those of us who tow very heavy trailers. Even with a 2 mile per gallon increase in fuel mileage it'll take a very long time to recoup the $800 for the chip.
