I've got a '92 F-150 4 x4 with the 4.9. It does have the auto hubs. It has always done it for the last 3 years but it has seemed to get worse lately, I can feel it in the left hand side of the drivers floor. When I make a 90 degree turn, either left or right, it makes a poping, clunking sound like something is loose. I always thought it was the automatic hubs but now not too sure.
Anyone experience anything like this?
Everything feels tight. Where should I start?
Thanks
Tracy

I would look at the radius arm bushings to see if they are tight. I had an 85 4x4 once and in 4 wheel drive it would pull the arm foward making a clunking noise

Radius arm bushings or seized axle joints cause auto hubs to lock on turns.
