I'm suprised you hadn't heard of PME. They've been around for a while, almost never anything in stock and all quite pricey. Nobody's building clevors anymore - Parker dropped their line of intakes too.

Well, I hadn't heard of them, but I'm glad I found their website. I ordered the adapter plates and the distributor kit today. They confirmed my package went out this afternoon and I will recieve it tommorrow. I wouldn't say nobody's building Clevors anymore but I guess since the advancements in cylinder head technology, it's just not as practical. Though I am enjoying the challenge of getting this all to work. I REFUSE to jump on the AFR bandwagon! lol. I dare to be different no matter what the cost! I did pick up my street E/T tires....so I will be able to hook what she's got! I'm getting excited, I'm close now. Man this is going to be so much fun!

Rick,

I'm right behind you. I'm building a 408 Clevor too. Well, I think I have everything. What intake are you running that is causing distributor clearance problems? Oh, I reread the post and you picked up the adapter plates. I saw your pics, is it a vintage boss intake or new?
I am going to use a Track Boss 351w intake.
Taking it to the shows will draw more crowds with a Clevor 408 than an AFR 408 too. My header primaries are 1 7/8. This thing is going to be a monster with 15lbs of boost. What kind of pistons are you using? I originally bought my 408 kit to use Windsor Sr Aluminum heads, but now I think I might need different pistons. I'm going to clay it first to see if it'll clear though. I'll be keeping an eye on your project,

Bart

I did receive my port plates and distributor kit today as promised! Cool! Almost next to nothing to do as far as port matching, REAL close. My intake is an old Boss 302 Offy Tunnelram. My pistons were custom made for my application through Wiseco. I'm using 2.19 BBC Ferrea valves and 1.71 exhaust. Bart you might want to pick up some of these plates. Also, Found out my Lobe sep. is 108 being its a roller motor.

Rick,

If you don't mind my asking, how much were those custom pistons? And, what length pushrods did you use? I'm also running a roller cam. My heads already have the high port plates installed http://www.pricemotorsport.com/html/body_ep-23___high_port_exhaust_plat.html . I am using a conversion intake that bolts onto a 351w w/cleveland 2v heads http://mustangandfords.com/techarticles/p85642_image_large.jpg . I haven't started putting my engine together. I have a -22cc dish 351w .030 over and will make about 9.0:1 compression with the 2v heads. I'm thinking the pistons are dished enough to not have clearance issues with the valves but I'll still clay measure it first. Thanks for the help by the way.

new to the board guys! trying to build the ultimate small block that i can offord! im putting a 427 clevor together
using the tmd kit.Im using c302b aluminum heads,
sheetmetal tunnel ram, dual rons flying toilets on methanol,
PA c-4 trans,8 inch ptc 5500 stall,5.14 gears. Im putting
this in a 71 maverick that i use to bracket race. i have
completely redone the entire car. 3 years in the making,
back halfed,chromemoly everything.this project has been a
headache from the start. built my own front end trying to
keep the shock towers somewhat stock?built my own front
end using fox body qa1 coilovers and a arms, this just to
get the engine in the car, had to get custom 3 step headers made due to the angle of the engine and the mavericks small
engine compartment. got a set of those pretty fabricated aluminum valve covers only to find out they would not fit
due to the master cylender was in the way. had to knotch
a section out. Intalled rack and pinion due to header clearence around steering box and arms. I guess my question
is, is a clevor engine worth the trouble? i sure hope so!
trying to get the car to run a 6.00 flat 1/8 mile with 10.5 tires and mufflers! I need to know the pushrod lenght also. sorry for all the rambling, just venting frustration!

Welcome Aboard! 427? I'm sure you have researched about rod angle, lifespan of the motor and such. On my application, I removed my blower motor (Don't run heat anyway) and my master is a 1989 Ranger master. The master is on flex hydraulic line, so I would have to undo the 2 bolts mounting the master to the firewall to swing it out of the way to get the valvecover off. No shock towers, and I bought Ford Powertrain Cleveland headers and had to modify #5 tube. You call it a pain..I call it challenging! hehe. I guess some would consider it a pain I'm sure. The advancements in heads these days, is unbelievable! You can get heads that flow as much as the "C" heads and aluminum too. Just depends on preference I guess... Dare to be Different, but expect to pay for it. Glad to hear of another "Clevor" . Post often... Here's a picture from my mock-up:
