How do I check for the proper clutch adjustment w/ a manual adjusting clutch cable (firewall adjuster)? I feel that the manufacturer's way by pulling at the cable to check for a gap at the adjuster isn't accurate and I feel it may throw my adjustment off. That being said, how should I check it?

adjust it until you have at or just less than 1/2" pedal before it get's stiff to push.
Fairly simple, and that is a safe area to have it in 1/4" to 1/2" of pedal play before pressing the throughout bearing forcefully into the flex plate
