in a stock c-4 setup can someone tell me how many cluthes and steels go in each drum. i think i have too many in each one. this is the early c-4 out of a 65 mustang. i'm about ready to throw my hands up and quit this project i sure as heck wish i hadn't started it. but i sure do appreciate all the help that has come from all you folks.

As long as your clearances are good, the more the better.

I don't remember off the top of my head what the stock setup is.

Do you have a feeler gauge set? If so put everything together and check the gap from the snap ring to the top retainer ring. Shoot for .005" per clutch disk. If 4 then .020". If you have 5 you want .025" . make sense? I run 6 per pack by using thin steels and custom machined retainers and/or thin snap rings . You can adjust with thicker or thinner steels or clutches or snap rings or retainers. Simple stuff but it makes you think.
