I think that the Versailles rear uses the large flanges on the ends. Has anybody ever just put a set of drums from a big Ford on these housings. I'm sick of dealing with the brakes on this thing (and the e-brake). I bought this rear in the eighties when it was the hot setup. If I would've known then that the brakes where this much trouble, I would have looked for a 57/58 Ford rear instead.
I have read on here that the newer disc brakes kits etc. will adapt to the rear, but I'm done with rear discs.
If big Ford drums do work, do I still use the axles from the Versailles? just remove the caliper brackets?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks
Tony

From what I have read there are two different Versailles housings. Both use the big bearing, but the backing plate patern can be either:
3.56" x 2.0" or 3.50" x 2.375".

I've got a caliper that's acting up on the right rear, so I'll be pulling that side, and I'll check to see what flange size I have.
