I take it that you are swapping in a 302 to a 65 mustang that was previuosly a 6 cyl.? If so the engine and frame mounts must be changed to V-8 and you probably should switch the steering, spindles and brakes to V-8 parts, it will work with the 6 cyl. stuff but, it is a good idea to switch to the heavier duty stuff. Of course if you are just changing from a 289 to a 302 there are no additional parts needed, just bolt the 289 mounts to the 302 and drop it in. I hope this helps.

This is true IF the 65 came with an alternator. IF it's a generator car, it could be a 5 bolt bell housing. In which case... if stick shift, find a 6 bolt housing and change it. If an automatic..C4, check with a local trans shop and change it to a 6 bolt bell,
