When I did the front end on my 64 Fairlane, I had to reuse the old outer wheel bearings beacuse the new ones fron AutoZone are way too small. Even the inner bearings may have been wrong too since the inner races seem very tight on the spindle. I really had to crank 'em down to get them to seat. Now on a right hand turn I can hear a little grinding noise from the left front wheel. I will pull it apart in the morning and see whats up.

My question is this: They sold me Timken bearings, "Set 2" for the outers and "set 6" for the inners. Even Timkens's website lists these for the 64 Fairlane, which at least for the outer is completely wrong.
Anyone know the correct #'s for these?

Well, Set 2 is correct for the outer bearing. I went home and took a look at the other unopened box, and it is the correct bearing! The first one was packaged wrong.
