Anyone using a set of the Crites 1 3/4" headers in a 65 or earlier Falcon? I am trying to find a header that has the top of the opening high enough to work with the raised ports on my Vic Jr heads. I welded up my set of Hooker 6901s around the outside of the tube at the flange and grinded out the opening, but they are still 1 5/8". I see that hooker has a 6208 header which is 1 3/4" for a mustang with a 351. I'm not having much luck finding 1 3/4" headers for a 65 Falcon or Mustang other than the two I mentioned above.

I have a set on my 64'. they are not the prettiest but work well. The tubes go in individualy which makes instalation a snap. They are for a 351W swap but I put them on my 306 with 180cc Protopline heads with no problem other than having F15Falcon fab me up a new trans crossmember(mine wasn't stock anyway). I had to go with these due to my 1 5/8" supercomps would not allow the install of spark plugs with the new heads.

You have to watch the 351 headers. Because the block height is higher making the heads farther apart, on some headers they tuck in more towards the block (to counter act the extra head width) than a 302 header. When you put them on a 302 they end up hitting the bellhousing.

Re: Crites 1 3/4\" Falcon Headers or Headers for Vic Jr heads in 65 Falcon

Hi guys, Im a new memeber. I have a 1965 ford falcon. I'am going to drop a 351 windsor in the car with victor heads, and I was wandering if I could get some feedback with what kind of 1 3/4 headers will work with stock shock towers?? Any feedback is much appreciated

Thanks,
