Guys,
Has anyone out there got a cruise control using the output of the speed sensor that comes on a Tremec TKO 600. I want to put a cruise control on my car but don't want to use the speedometer cable sensor type output if the one that came on the transmission can be used. Jim

There are some Rostra/Audiovox units that read VSS or coil (engine speed). The universal coil types were all over out there last year for $50-75. My local auto parts had Audiovox for $65.

That's the type of cruise I've had on mine for 25 years. The first one used a vehicle speed sensor that read a magnet strapped tot he driveshaft, and the current unit uses the tach signal off the coil. The vehicle speed sensor was more precise than the engine speed version, but it works just fine.
