Hi,

Just got my parts from my supplier and a new output shaft seal. I assumed my transmission was a Cruise-o-Matic, small case ('64 Galaxie) but the seal was a bit too big and didn't fit. Funny things is that when I first owned the car (20 years ago, bought it back few years ago) I also ordered a new seal for it but it was also too big back then. I kept the old seal and compared it to the one I got today and same size (wrong size).
Could it be that my transmission is a later FMX and how to identify to be sure what to order for what the next time.

Measured the old correct one and it should be about 60 mm (2,362 inch).

Seem to be a small-case FMX then. Took a photo the the extension housing. Can anyone ID it? Font Automotive tire Gas Tints and shades Cylinder

i saw different option on rock auto when i got the seals for mine. might want to look there, they typically list dimensions in the descriptions.
