I've never been a big fan of cutting anything on a stock auto project, but I had to cut a piece off of the inside of my new oil pan to get the oil pump sump to clear. There was a piece of metal tac welded into the bottom of my new pan, well with it in place I couldn't get my oil pan to seat properly as it contacted the oil pump sump. After much hemming and hawing, I broke out my handy dandy dremel tool and cut that piece out enough to clear the sump pickup. Anybody else had this problem?

It's a stock pump, aftermarket pan. Not sure the manufacturer, it was a zinc coated pan that's been sitting in my barn for a couple years. As my stock pan looked like somebody whacked it with a hammer, I figured I'd swap em out. Stubbornness kept me from putting the old one back on.
