Well after a 2 1/2 year search I finally found a vendor that had one of those carpet dash pads for a 61. It was actually listed for a 62 Galaxie in his catalogue and written in pencil but I took a chance that it was for Galaxie and not a Falcon or Fairlane. It fits good and looks better than my ever increasing cracks in the dash.

I need to start covering mine before it looks like that. I can see the foam breakdown under the vinyl in some places.

It's my fault it looks that bad. It only had 1 small crack at the speaker when I got it. This summer really took it's toll on it. I should have been using a windshield sun screen.

You're not alone in doing that! I didn't use one either although i just realized not long ago that i actually had one of those tinfoil looking things in the trunk that i forgot i had. I might have to see bout making one or something that is carpet or similar.
