Here is my set-up;

Front spindles, calipers, and discs from a 72 Torino
Rear calipers with emergency brakes from a 85 Cadilac Seville
Rear rotors from 85 Lincoln
Master cylinder from a mid 70's Lincoln Mark
Proportioning valve from MP Brakes - GM style
All parts are new or remanufactured

I have bled the system, adjusted up the rear Cadi calipers and still have a spongy peddel. The mc rear brake chamber shows fluid action, the front brake chamber does not.

Next troubleshooting step, I connected a trouble light from the + battery terminal to the prop valve brake switch and the light came on indicating the rod inside the mc tripped the safety switch and shut down the front brake chamber.

How do I "re-set" the master cylinder?

Thanx

ok, open all your bleeders, slide about 3 foot of aquarium tubing to each one, MAKE SURE THE TUBING GOES UP FROM THE BLEEDERS (I hang mine with electrical tape from the ceiling (shut up, it works) KEEP the ends AWAY from the body of the car unless you want to repaint)

Make sure the MC is full and SLOWLY push it to the floor, release and get out of the car - go check all the hoses, you should have about an inch of fluid in each hose, Repeat this until you have a good 6inch column of fluid in the hose, once there, close THAT bleeder.

YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP REFILLING THE RESERVOIR BETWEEN PUMPS.
