I have built a very similar engine combo for my falcon. My cam is a little bit different (224 @ .050, .498 lift) but everything else is the same. I will be drag racing this car, so I am curious what it will do. Have you had your car down the track (1/4 mile)? Thanks for the post, the info is great!

Not yet. The money I was saving for a posi is now being spent on a Mexican 302 block. Thought I better get one while I could. I'll be building a 347 sometime in the next couple of years and I like the Mex for a base.

Good luck on your runs and let me know how you do. By the way, how much does your car weigh?

I am not sure about the weight. I have lightened the car as much as possible. I would guess that it is close to a stock 67 -68 mustang. I plan to take the car to a certified scale (truck stop?) by the end of the season. I have the motor built and the tranny ready to go, they should be transplanted within the next 2 months. I will post my times after the initial test & tune.

I also have a 289 with headers, 4v, etc. Almost exactly the same as yours, except no cam yet. I am planning on getting that same cam if not a very similar one. So basically, I'm also expecting about 215 rwhp. What I was wondering is what does your car run on the strip?

Sorry Street,
I don't get in the Dyno forum much.

I never got the chance to do the strip thing. Sold this engine to my friend with a 65 FB also.

Working on the 331 now.
