I am hand porting a set of E7TE heads
for a stock '83 302 HO block using
a comp cams 262H cam. I intend to install
larger valves in these heads and need to
know what size valves can be used without
creating a piston to valve clearance problem.
Also, I've heard that Chevy and Ferrea valves
flow better then Ford valves, size for size,
but may create valve length problems. Does
anyone have info on this? I guess the main
question is how big can I go on the valves
without smacking the stock pistons?
thanks, any advise will be appreciated

1.94 and 1.60 If the deck is left stock and the heads don't get planed you should be all set. It's only when you use the 2.02 intake valves where you have P to V problems.

Good luck.
