I've got an oil leak somewhere on my car. I can't figure out where it is except it's all over the bottom, from the starter to the transmission linkage.
I bought some engine degreaser and brake cleaner and I'm looking for a suggestions how to scrub all the old crud&oil off so I can see where the leak is. If that's the way to do it!

I think you're on the right track. In the past I've used a gasket scraper followed up by a wire brush to get rid of the thick crud build up. Then hit the area with a power-washer if you can. If not, brake clean will work.

A power washer will be very helpful. Let the degreaser soak for a while, then blast the gunk off with the power washer.

I used degreaser and brake cleaner and a small-nozzle hose. I saw the pan bolts showed oil so I tightened those 1/2 turn. The only drip now is, I believe, the main seal :mad:
