Can someone de-code this for me? It is off my 302 block, which is supposed to be a 302 4V. Is that correct?
Here is the #'s
0D21
C90E-6015-C or 6.
Thanks a lot.
Matt
P.S.
does anyone know where I can get a book to decode engine tags, vin #'s, ect for old fords? THANKS
Oh, the heads say 302 and then a B. There is also what looks to be a semi-circled F also. The tops of the head bolts have F on them.

Hmmm ... best info I have indicates C9OE as 69 - 70 351W

All 302 blocks of the era are "ZE" codes ... as in: C9ZE,D1ZE,D0ZE

Not sure I helped much

Thanks Larry-
I will go re-check it later...hard to see the code when it is sitting on the garage floor.
It is the only # on the block. I have 4 letter/number code that is on the head...not sure if that helps any.
0E15.
Will the code on the manifold help?
THANKS!

The number you gave for the block (0D21) is a casting date which is '70/April/21st day the head no you gave (0E15) is '70/May/15th day. So you have a 1970 engine, I don't have any info on the no C9OE-6015C, but it is probably the castng no they used for the '70 302's. 69 302's used C8OE-6015A or B.

Bob Mannels small block ford book has all the info you are looking for. Only problem is that it is for '62-'69 small block 221-302 engines. It does not have info on '70 and later, or 351 engines.

You may have seen it already, but Robbi has a post in the Garage about an NHRA engine decoding site. I don't know if you will find what you need, but maybe it will help.

Thanks for all of the help guys. I now know I have a 1970 block, so it is not a 4V. The heads are not aluminum, so it is not a boss. It must just be a regular 302 2V. Could it be a 302 HO? I will re-check the tag again today and re-post it. I may have written it down wrong.
Thanks again!
Matt

I decited to take a head off to get the head code, the specs are as follows.
INTAKE VALVE DIAMETER: 1.90
EXHAUST " " : 1.55
Code: DOOE
In the middle it says 302 with a 69 underneath.
What do I have?
Thanks
Matt
P.S. they are for sale if anyone wants them.
