What's the best way to seal the head pipe to my 429PI exhaust manifolds? What did Ford do? I want to stay away from fiber gaskets cause they break and go to leaking pretty easily. I've got some steel gaskets that are pressed on 2.5" pipe and they match up really well. Good contour match with the manifold-gasket surface and inside diameter match on the pipe. However I've had problems with metal gaskets not sealing.
Anybody got any tips on sealing metal gaskets to manifolds? The exhaust shop in town uses some liguid steel type goop. Would that be the stuff to use? Put a small bead on the gasket(kind of like what you do with silicone) and tighten it down?

Thanks Greg. I've heard good things about it but have never personally used it. I've about got my head pipes completed. Now I get to start moving back and get that x pipe plumbed in!
