You may remember the post about a friend with a '97 F-150 with a 4.6 modular and 4WD. He has scrapped the idea of a 351W and decided to work with what he's got!!

First thing he plans to do is remove the exhaust system and install headders, but he has two "Doo-Dads" that look like oxygen sensors on each side......one before and one after the catalytic converter?? Are these actually O2 sensors and what ill things will happen if you leave them out of the system??

Thanks,

Yes it has 4 oxygen sensors. The ones in front of the converters are used like normal sensors to tell the PCM how much oxygen is in the exhaust. The ones after the converters tell the PCM if the converter is working properly or not. It needs all 4 working right or the "check engine" light will be on, possibly causing it to not run right, lose gas mileage etc.
