Just returned from the National Falcon meet in Indianapolis. There were about 300 Falcons there, great show.
Check out the retractable hardtop. Great engineering and immaculate car. Had Independent Rear suspension too.

Feel free to download the pictures or to contact me for a high resolution file if you are interested

There were a few there - overall about 300 Falcons and I did not get a shot of each of them. Glad that you enjpyed the photos, I hope to get my Ranchero finished and bring it to one of these events some day.

Thanks for posting, those are some great pics. I'm surprised that the axle cars (straight front axle) survived this long.

Does the wheel fall off when the top goes up or down?

Jim I did not see this one personally but I think that you have to jack it up and remove both rear wheels to get the top to position it self correctly so that the trunk can be closed.
You know I'm just kidding
That is quite a piece of work, I would love to have access to one of those rear ends.
I had read a while back that Ford was developing these for the Mustang but the Mustangs were not in production yet so the strapped them on the Falcons and put them to the test. Dave Peeters has the scoop on that piece of engineering and hot this guy got possession of one. Dave?
