FE inspection plate gasket?

Hey guys,
As I was cleaning up my inspection plate/cover for my 65 390/MX bellhousing, I found remnants of what looked to be cork gasket material. Were these supposed to have that from the factory (my parts catalog is a little unclear on that)? Also, I saw a rubber starter dust boot/seal on ebay for 390 with a '62 part number, made me wonder if these were supposed to have that. I appreciate any help, and sources for purchasing, if they were stock and are available. Hoping to make this as correct as possible.

Thanks,
Kelly

Dang Jazz that is a clean MX. I have my inspection plate off and don't see any gasket stuff. but it's a rebuild, so maybe it was there once. Also, I don't see them being included in rebuild kits.

Would you mind taking a few measurements for me? The length of the transmission and the length of the driveshaft. Thank you!

Definitely will do. I’ll try to get to it tomorrow.
Rubber starter boot ended with the old style starter in 64 I believe.
