I have a Ford 9" rear diff with coil springs and disc brakes. There is a cable attached to the front of the housing (not sure if it is for a locker as it runs to a switch). Now the tag on the housing reads " WGC-D5 4KB" then below on the tag reads " 3.00 9 496A". I am going to install this into my Rat Rod but need as much info as I can get on it. Any info would be awesome.

the tag indicates a 3.0 open. Could have been modified at some time.

9" with coils and Disc brakes is going to be from a late 79 Lincoln Mark or big ford wagon, Etc, the "cable" up front is for an early form of antilock.
