Ford Big block "FE Race & Reunion" - Beaver Springs Dragway - Beaver Springs, PA 4/27

On April 27th, 2013 (4/27) we will hold the first annual "FE Race & Reunion" at Beaver Springs Dragway in Beaver Springs, PA. This is an event celebrating the Ford FE Big block. It's a low key, high fun event. Track owner Beaver Bob of Beaver Springs is giving us the track for the entire day. An IHRA 1/4 mile drag strip at our disposal. We will have racing, TNT and a car show/cruise. There will be 2 FE race classes. Hot FE 12.99 - under and Cool FE 13.00 and up, bracket style. Beaver Bob is supplying trophies to both classes. Racing fee will be $40. When not racing we'll be testing and tuning so if you don't want to competitively race you can just have fun and make passes at your own pace all day long. All FE powered show cars are admitted free and eligible for an award by Beaver Bob. All spectators are free as well. Jody Aberts is trying to set up some good match races from some top FE racers. What else could you ask for? A drag strip with only FE powered cars. Beaver Bob has told me, he's not worried about the numbers but I think it would be in our best interest to support a track that is willing to do this for us. For everyone involved we hope it pans out to be an annual affair. So if you ever wanted to see what your FE can do in the quarter mile head out to Beaver Springs Dragway for the "FE Race & Reunion" on April 27, 2013 10AM-4PM.

We have everything covered for a successful show but it would make it nicer if we had some door prizes or prizes for the class winners. Parts, apparel, books, etc... all would be great. So if you are a shop owner or FE vendor and want to get some recognition (i.e. advertising time) won't you consider sponsoring some items or donating them?

The event flyer is at http://www.fairlanet.com/fe mark your calendars as we hope to see many of you FE aficionado's head North to Beaver Springs Dragway. We're 5 months away and will keep you all posted and reminders will be often. You may see posts on other sites as well and don't forget to tell your FE friends.

I hope I covered it all. If you have any questions you can email Jody or I (see flyer).

The Ford Big block FE engine was produced from 1958 until 1976. Sizes in cubic inch include 332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410 427 & 428. If you’ve got one in a running vehicle bring it out to Beaver Springs Dragway on April 27, 2013.

Go to www.beaversprings.com and click on the schedule link. For those looking for something to do on Sunday, Beaver has their weekly Summit ET series racing.

We also have a Facebook group established to keep up with information about the event. To join click here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/422744294447955/

Re: Ford Big block "FE Race & Reunion" - Beaver Springs Dragway - Beaver Springs, PA

Great news! The FE Race & Reunion now has a title sponsor. Barry Rabotnick of Survival Morotsports has put up money for all racing categories. That is a number with 4 digits to the left of the decimal so the FE-ers will race for cash! Check out Survival Motorsports at www.survivalmotorsports.com and the FE Race & Reunion site at www.fairlanet.com/FE we hope to see you FE guys there!

Re: Ford Big block "FE Race & Reunion" - Beaver Springs Dragway - Beaver Springs, PA

On Saturday we met with Beaver Springs track owner, Beaver Bob about particulars with the FE Race & Reunion.

Our website has all of the updateshttp://www.fairlanet.com/FE please vitit it for full details.

Racing classes & payout: Pro FE (Quick 8) 1- $300, RU - $200, Semi loser - $100, 1st round loser - $50 w/special quick 8 FE decal, trophy 1st & 2nd.

Hot FE (12.99-quicker) 1- $200, RU - $100, Semi - $50, trophy 1st & 2nd.

Cool FE (13.00-slower) 1- $200, RU - $100, Semi - $50, trophy 1st & 2nd. Note, we still are looking for sponsorship to fulfill this class payout.

The race classes will require tech and proper safety equipment. Beaver Springs is going to be real lenient on the rules and safety equipment for time shots. As long as you have safe helmets and seat belts yuo should be ok unless you run real fast then we'd expect the proper roll bars in those cars.

FE time shots. Time shots will go on all throughout the day. Make sure your car is safe and all you'll need is belts and helmet is required if faster than 13.99.

Car show (FE powered only) 1st, 2nd & 3rd place all receive trophies.

Rain date is the day after, Sunday 4/28. Another cool date!

We are working on some top FE match racers, best of 3.

After all racing is completed there will be a ride along. The cars that paid to race or time shots will line up in the staging lanes and spectators and friends can take 1/8 mile runs. If you have a helmet bring it, you never know. We'll try to work through the helmets issue.

Check Beaver Springs websithttp://www.beaversprings.com or our websithttp://www.fairlanet.com/FE for hotels and when making reservations mention Beaver Springs for a 10% discount.

A bonus for any NSS racer. If you race the FE Race & Reunion Beaver Bob will offer a $50 bonus if you run the York Nostalgia races on July, 14, 2013.

There will be special event t-shirts for sale and event decal will be available.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Remember that admission is free to all spectators and car show entrants.

$40 fee for all racers and time shot drivers.

Remember, this day is for all FE nuts to have FUN!

Thanks!
