An original SCJ car.Found it ....from a barn in Sweden. A solid project car that is rustfree and never welded. The original SCJ motor is gone but all the rest is there: N case rear with 3,91 gears+31 spl axles, buckets, console 8000 in dash tach, power steering+brakes. Marti report.
Boy am I happy..this has been in my dreams since 1977 !
Since the original motor has been replaced by a standard 429 I am not obliged to restore the car.Plans include a 750+ horse stroker+related.Perhaps real brakes+rollbar as well but I will not cut the car at all so that it will be possible to restore one day ...if and when I get older.
Congrats on the find.
I found my 1972 GTS Torino 4 speed in the middle of Iowa, where it had been in a small barn for 17 years.
Always cool to hear about stuff like that.
Yeehaa- the Torino is up and running. Had it MOT:t last friday . Now I am waiting for the car tax decision from the authorities, should be only around 1000 usd.
Everything in the car works...but in such a way that almost everything needs to be done. I have so far perhaps 200 miles on it. Oh, yes, the C6 works really beautifully , perhaps the best feeling automatic I have driven.
The engine feels and seems to be a stock -72 429...and quite tired one. But since the rearend ratio is 3,91 it still accelerated from 0 to 60 in 7,5-8 seconds. Highway driving is pita...4000 rpm at 70 mph.And this with leaking exhaust, vague steering and tired driver´s seat..you know what I mean...pure hot rod heaven!
