so we have moved on from the carb choke situation and are now trying to take on the fuel gauge and blinkers. the flashers work and the brake lights work but we dont have left or right blinkers. thinking it might be in the column switch. as far as the fuel gauge goes, it had been replaced with an aftermarket that was wrong for the car back in the late 80s. fast forward to 2012 and we have secured the correct gauge on cl. question is which wire goes to which post. does it matter? one is yellow and one is black. one is hot with the key, forgot to look which one but i am guessing the yellow. any help would be great. Have you changed the flashers yet? Not sure if the light will light up and just not blink or not but think that's how it works. I believe there are 2 of them in your car, one under the dash near the steering column and another near the glove box.


Here's a wiring diagram for a '65. Although yours is a '66 i'm sure it's pretty much the same. It might help to a degree.
