I am toying with the idea of fabing a fuel injection system for my 71 torino with a 351c. What would this intail? What sensors and computer and other parts would I have to use and I would like to if possible use mostly junkyard parts sine I don't have a lot of money ( college student). Would a system from late model 460 powered truck work? Thanks for your help.

I am looking to fuel inject my cleveland also, however I am doing a TT setup also. I do not think that a 460 will work. The hardest problem you will probally come across is finding an intake for the cleveland that is already setup for fuel injection. I know they have them in Australlia, but I do not know about the US.

I asked the same question a way back on the board. Below are some links that I have found.

The biggest problem is coming up with an intake that has EFI and will fit on a Cleveland, for a junkyard swap, Australlia would be your best bet. But, they do make aftermarket intakes they are about $750.
If you are interested check out http://www.coasthigh.com/ then do a search for EFI and they have intakes plumbed up for 2 barrel and 4 barrel heads.

Anyhow check out the pages and see what you like. I am sorry that I do not have better news. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

None of the pieces from the 460 will work. Fuel rails have the wrong spacing, intake obviously won't work. There are one of two routes you can take, either mass air (87+ Mustang) or speed density. Most of the aftermarket-based systems use SD. I'm putting efi on my Cleveland, but I'm not going the cheap route. I'm converting an aftermarket 351W efi intake (TFS) to Cleveland specs, with mass air. I'm using MA for several reasons: 1) its Ford, 2) it controls both fuel and ignition, 3) I like the idea of sequential efi vs batch fire like what most base aftermarket stuff is, 4) with an EEC tuner, it can be customized to fit a variety of engine and driving parameters. Although I'm not finished with the intake conversion, you're welcome to see a few rough pics of what it looks like. I have a TFS 351W link embedded within the text of my main page.
Best wishes!
Scott

How exotic do you want to get with your EFI? Hilborn (www.hilborninjection.com) has a EFI for 351C.If money is not a concern, they can have you set up for about $3,500.
