ok, my project is going fairly well (carbed 302 in my 92 efi truck)..but im having a few issues.

How does the fuel system turn the pumps on and off, there is no pressure switchs anywhere i can tell. I get just the initial boost when you first turn the key. I put in a bypass style regulator and I was hoping the pumps would remain running with the key in "on"...but no such luck.

any ideas out there, im sure im not the first one to do this

and yes I want to keep the stock fuel pumps / dual tanks

the engine sounds great, just hope i can find a way to keep it fed.

thanks

On my 87, carburated - (duel tanks) the oil pressure switch closing allowed the fuel pumps to stay energized. - I put in a mechanical oil gage and engine would not run longer than 8 seconds - found the oem sending unit had a switch that closed when pressure was built, and properlly wired, allowed the fuel pumps to remain energized.
