I've got a 289 in my 64 falcon that has a generator on it now. I want to find out what i need to do to either

a) rebuild the gnerator if possible

or

b) change over to an alternator setup

If I change over to an alternator, what kind should I look for and how should I handle the internal vs external voltage regulator??? What about brackets?

Any and all opinions welcome.

I would convert to an alternator. If you can get an internally regulated one that would be better. You can get the brackets from an old engine.

I agree, alternators are better, but havin the old stuff is cool. Sometimes you gotta go with cool over function. If you don't have alot of electronics, I say stick with the generator. Why not? Be different.
