Thought i'd make a post here, copy and paste basically on the project day at the big FM BBQ Bash at FE's. For those that don't venture out of the Galaxie realm.

BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Gary Ron and David for putting the new springs, shocks and bushings in the front end of the Shotrod. And as an added bonus, carb and timing adjustment. I got a new car it felt like almost!! The squeaks are gone, we didn't feel like tipping over when going around corners and going down the hill on 56th Ave to S. Tacoma Way no bouncing or more kinda like rocking side to side and bounce on that rough street. Didn't realize how much it did that til it didn't do it anymore!!
Plus can make it up some of the hills so much better now too after the adjustments!!

You guys are the greatest!

Hopefully this fall we can get to Eldon's Granada this fall and should be easier also as there won't be old parts to worry about!

We all had a fairly good time but poor FE, PSIG and RNR worked their tails off! But other than hearing thunder in the distance and foggy start of the day it turned out to be a great day.

I should of let you drive it around the block Gary or even the yard since you did back it in the shop. You would notice the difference in steering but heck if i know what would make it harder. Might change after i lube stuff more and drive a bit more though. Definitely stiff turning both directions but it did great on the highway no big wanderings. Just need to get that alignment now. Shoot even Ron could of since he has the same car. duh didn't think of either though!

Headed to the Harnish chevrolet show in Puyallup this afternoon so i can finally meet Lance Lambert of the Vintage Vehicle show and see Danny Vernon the Elvis impersonator. Then i don't have to pay to see him at a casino somewhere. If Ron goes he'll probably be there and gone by the time i get there! lol

Deb, hope you made it to the show and got to see Elvis. I didn't make it out there today. Yesterday really took its toll on my back, so I am just munching on pain pills and relaxing today.

I didn't think of driving your car either to see how the steering was. I really wouldn't have any thing to compare it to other than my sloppy front end, which was probably the same as yours before all the new parts. When you get a chance, be sure to put some grease into all those zerk fittings and maybe things will loosen up a bit.

Like David said, maybe that upper BJ on the driers side DID move when we were taking it off....
It could be binding....

That's possible or it's just i'm used to it being all sloppy or it just all needs to be greased and broken in some. Ron, maybe you could of compared. Nothing cooler than driving another car like your own if you never have. But i'm kinda a nut. But i thought it was fantastic when running into some hang gliders on the mountain and one with a '64 gal needing someone to drive it for him into the valley below which was bout 20 miles or so by car. I was in heaven. lol And yep, the power steering was a leaker on it too! That was like 1976 so it was actually the lull between "losing" "my" car and getting it back. Maybe next time, so you can compare.

Will see how it goes after a while of grease and driving, could be me being used to slop but don't think so. It could be the shotrod is trying to spit out those nasty new parts. LOL But wow does it ride better, quieter and runs better too!! Just going to back down the idle just a bit.

Ron, i got to see Elvis but was too late to actually hear him sing darn it. Checked out the pink caddy an elderly lady gave him and guess what, the keys were in the ignition, i should of hopped in and went for a ride maybe! lol I met Lance Lambert and said howdy to Larry who puts on the show and a lot of them in the area, gabbed with the VW bus people i knew there and i even saw a '64 convertible there, white with black interior!
I'm looking at the pics now and Elvis was looking at me when i was taking the pic of the caddy, darn it i should of zoomed in cause i think he blew me a kiss! Or maybe i was blinded by the sight. LOL But his lips were puckered and he was looking right at me, if only i'd realized it! Durn! I'll add a couple pics in a dif thread and some from the get together in the next day or two.

Gary, any word on how Sasquatch, hedgehog or what was that name, is doing?
