Ford Galaxie 500 HubCaps
Brand New Never Installed
These Hubcaps are more than 40 years old and have never been installed. They are in mint condition.
I still have some of the original boxes.
Perfect for that detailed restoration.

WOW! Nice friggin find! Probably his Grandpappy's
I'd bet he is a dealer...just like those guys that travel around to samll towns or buy estate sale, or advertise in the newspaper for WWII swords, antiques, coins... old car parts and automobilia, collectables are a thriving business.

The stuff may have come from an attic, someones grandpa or some stuff pulled from a warehouse sale in DeMoines. The one thing you can bet...he probably paid 1/10 of what he is asking for on e-bay.

It's good when stuff like that comes on the market...but it sure has a way of ticking off the average guy that can't afford to pay those kind of prices.

It's not so bad when you have crap on your old car, as long as you can believe its the best you can get for a 40 year vehicle...then this kind of auction comes up. forcing you start drooling all over again.

You'd probably be better to take a set apart and redo like re chrome and polish the stainless up yourself. That seems pricey just for caps.

Wanna see a grown man cry? .... take the Galaxie out of the garage, clean it up real nice for a drive in a local parade.

Have such a nice time, feeling good so you stop off at the Denny's on the way home to feed the brood and talk about things; the day, the parade and how nice the Gal' ran during the parade - "...didn't over heat once!"

Come back out a find a group of skate punks playing "Gladiator", using your new "e-bay purchase" hub caps as shields. They'er still OK, but have dents, assorted scratch marks - from where the kids where throwing rocks at each other.

You are lucky, the cops come...real lucky! ...; You get their parents on the phone, they are reasonable, say they will pay for the damage.

So..., They ask, "How much for a set of 'old 64 Galaxie hub caps? No need to involve the insurance company, is there?"...you tell them...

Can you hear the crying on the other end of the phone...?
