Ordering more parts !!!

I have just about everything I need for my 64 Falcon 5.0 & Granada swap except few things. I have all new front upper & lower controls arms and for $60, I can get new front coil springs. Rock Auto shows same springs for both Inline 6 & V8 & 65 Mustang as well. I am not building an autocross car. I have two questions.

1. Does the front end height changes with Granada Disk Brakes Spindles ?

2. I don't need something fancy but what front coil springs do guys recommend?

Thanks again,

Waid

In reference to DanH's post. It's all up to you. The spindles should not change the height enough to notice. But, they will change the steering geometry. It took me awhile to realize this. Granada and Falcon are two different animals. psig did a good explanation on this. Bump steer is a major player. Do a search and read his thoughts.

As far as the coils, it's all up to you. back to Danh's tape measure. I cut one coil off a new stock spring and got the perfect height that I was looking for. It's all about personal taste.

There are better options than the Granada spindles despite what you have read.

Have you done the Shelby/Arning drop yet? This is a must do on the early cars before installing coil springs. I like the Kelsy hayes disc swap over the Granada but you do need v-8 spindles. I have the GT mustang Coil springs in my 65 Sprint. Do not use the factory settings for the alignment.

As the guys above say, the Granada swap was popular really because we had no other options for disc brakes on Falcons or Fairlanes. If you look over at Fairlane club of America site Bob Mannel does a great tech.article about problems created switching to the Granada spindles .(Bumpsteer!)
There are much better swaps now, Scarebird is a cheap alternative, SSBC & Master power brakes make great kits too, which are designed specifically for Ford guys. Eaton Detroit spring will make you coils for any ride height/quality you want, they have all the specs for our Fords. Before I went coil overs, Eaton made me front coils/rear leafs to drop my F;lane 3" & they were right on the money

I actually have complete manual & complete power steering including the steering box from a Maverick that is very close in length/size as the 64 Falcon. It looks like 65 Falcon type steering link. I got it when I got the disk brake spindles from the Maverick. The Maverick is little narrow but has enough adjustment so I think it will work fine.

I plan to install the manual Maverick steering first and later convert to power. I got it because I also have 68 Galaxy Steering Column which is collapsible type. Going to get rid of that spear of death!

If I use complete steering from Maverick, will I still have bumpsteer ?
