Just got the 351 running with GT40 heads. All rockers got oil when I primed the pump, all torqued to 25 with lifter on base circle. I get alot of noise out of the lifters, sound like solid valve train. Any ideas? I got extra high Edelbrock valve covers. Pulled covers and all are tight.

I had the same issue with my cc 274xe cam. Re-adjusted the valvetrain 4 times before I realized that the poly-locks were backing off of the studs .25-.5 of a turn, just enough to get some chatter. Replaced them with some ARP locks, adjusted, and sounds smooth as silk now.
