hard starting when hot

I have a 1973 mustang grande with a 351 cleveland in it.
When it get hot and I shut it off and try to restart it it turn over very slow and barely starts it sounds like the battry is almost dead!!! any ideas?

That's what happens to Ford starters when they get old. You can try pulling the starter and cleaning the starter face and the block, cleaning all the cable connections, etc. If it still does it replace the starter. If you run headers a new "high buck, hight torque" Powermaster is about $160 from Summit.
