Hi Guys,
I need a 28oz harmonic balancer for my 393 stroker. I have checked on summit & see they range from about $70 upto $400!! My engine is a mid specification build & will go into a Cobra replica which will be used for general street driving & occasional track, (about 450FWHP).
Can anyone advise on what balancer to use for my build.

thanks,
Martyn

Look at the Ford racing ones, Romac, Maybe even the Summit brand.
Find the one that fits your timing pointer location and or get one of those adjustable ones. Sucks with the timing light if it don't line up.

summit brand is great if you don't want to spend too much money, they are sfi, have removable weight for 0,28,50oz applications, 3 sets of engraved timing marks and will accept both 3 & 4 bolt pulleys. I bought mine for $140 and when I had my assembly balanced it didn't even affect the previous balance that was done with the stock balancer.

I use a Romac on my 418w. It fit good on the crank. I was able to use the original Ford pointer with two ~ .75 inch round spacers and longer bolts from the hardware store. I have no complaints with the Romac.

Romac or ATI are probably the best but be willing to dish out some cash
