Trying to find a header gasket for my Crites headers in my 67 Falcon with a 408w.
My heads take a 1486 Felpro (port size 1.4"x1.4&quot
but the gaskets have a double bolt pattern and my exhaust gas blows right between the gasket and the unused gasket bolt hole.

I have called Crites and their header guy is never there to answer questions and it seems that nobody else knows squat at that place.

If anyone has these headers in a falcon, what gasket did you use??

Toss the gasket idea and use some regular ole RTV silicone. Apply a thin bead to the header (1/16-1/8&quot
and let it cure for about 20 minutes, and then bolt in place. I use the Permatex black silicone and it works great.

While traveling south of the border, my header bolts loosend up and I blew a header gasket on my 289. I could not find a header gasket so I used 2 (one set) of the stock fel-pro exhaust manifold gasket sandwiched together with the metal sides out. It held for over 4000 miles, until I decided to replace it once I got back home

best i could come up with is that your ports are square and the header ports are oval. Right?
Heres a few thoughts i had.

Im not sure if the bolt pattern will work for you or if they are big enough on the port size. I tried.
Good luck

What head is this for?
Procomp head, 1.4 x 1.4 port, calls for a 1482 Felpro gasket.
The headers have a square port but its larger than the head and is sort of buttertfly shaped to accomodate the bolts. If I could find a 1.4 x 1.4 gasket with only one bolt pattern cut into it, I think it would seal.
Silicone might work if I could keep from smearing it all over while installing the header tubes.

Anyone ever make their own gaskets?
