I have got a 63 Ford Country Sedan Wagon. I have a 351 W block in it now with an AOD. Origionally a 289 car. I am having a hell of a time finding headers that will fit. Specifically the drivers side. I would like to retain my stock column shifter.

I have the old 63 rear dump manifolds that exit out the back end of the manifolds. These are too small aren't they?I have been told that I can use mustang shorty headers, truck headers. I am running a mild RV cam 256/262. Isn't it better to run 1 1/2 primaries? or am I going to not loose any low end with 1 5/8. It is just a cruiser pulling my Airstream trailer.

I am possible looking at Sanderson headers model ff4. The sandersons dump out on the third exhaust port back form the front of the block. They dump straight down. They are a block hugger style header. Has anyone used these with any success with this application.
Has any one tried the 63 Fairlane hi-po headers from Dearborn Classics?

I have the truck shorty headers on my 65 and I looked at my friends 64 and I think the truck headers will work but we both have 302s which might make a difference with a 351 due to it being a little taller and wider. If you cant find headers that fit the late 80s and early 90s truck and van manifolds have larger ports then the original 289 manifolds and dump at the third cylinder plus they do not need doughnut gaskets,I originally set my 65 up with the 80s truck manifolds and they exited where they need to. Thanks Jeff,

I ended up ordering a set of Mustang headers form Summit. If those don't work I will try the truck headers. Thanks for the reply.
