i am having a hard time finding headers for my mustang it is an 68 with a t-5 and the cable clutch any info would help thank

Had the same problem on my '65. I made a bracket to pull the cable away from the headers. Has worked perfect for years.

I did the same thing, bolted it to the lower crossmember.
