I have been reading up on Mustang / Cougar headlamp switches, theres lots of conflicting information on the web, I'm looking for clarity.

Apparently the circuit breaker in the 69 Mustang switch has a higher rating because of the dual headlights, using this switch with Halogen lights on a 65 should prevent overloading of the circuit breaker. 67 Cougar is also supposed to have a higher rated circuit breaker for the same reason.

That being said the pictures posted for these switches 65 Mustang, 69 Mustang and 67 Cougar are all over the map, the actual switch looks the same, however the bracket at the front seems to vary in some pictures and not in others:

- some look identical to the 65 (square-U crimped to the front of the switch)
- some don't have the square-U crimped to the front of the switch
- some pictures of the 69 switch look like the 65, while others have a cone shaped bracket on the front.

Can anyone with real world experience shed some light?

Yep, the Switches are all the same as far as I know, and the DanH suggestion is the way to go.
