Hi , I have a 1972 Gran Torino Sport, all original. I am thinking about changing to an HEI distributer system and get away from the old 'Points & Condenser. Any suggestions on brands, types, etc would be appreciated. Thanks. John M.

To keep it looking original I'd use a Pertronix kit. I installed one on my '64 Marauder and it worked great. It makes up for a worn distributor too that can cause problems keeping your points set properly. One upside over Duraspark, HEI etc. is if it ever fails you can reinstall your points ( just keep them in the glove box) and you can limp home! Stu

Hi Stu, thanks for the info. I have a catalog from Dearborn Classics and they have a Pertronix 'Kit', consisting of the ignition module, 8mm plug wires, and a Hi Voltage coil. I think I'll try it. John M

I've had a pertronix with a MSD 6A box for 6 years now, with no problems.
