I have a 1966 C6 that I need a new Neutral Safety Switch for. However all the part stores in Dallas Texas seem to not stock any FORD parts these days. My questions are.....
#1 - Is the Neutral Safety Switch the same for a C4 and C6?
#2 - has anyone ever installed a later model C6 Neutral Safety Switch on an older transmission? They seem to be the same part other than the connectors of course..... Simple splice job and bingo your in business, right? Not to mention the later model parts are CHEAPER.....

Thoughts????

Thanks in advanced.....

+1. The early C6 used the C4 NSS and two connectors. I found it online on the first try, but I have not compared availability or pricing. The connectors are at your local hardware store as trailer wiring if you need new ones.

BTW - if you are willing to do the connector re-splice, then the later C6 range sensors (NSS) are on clearance at rockauto for $15.
