The 9" and 3.00 is a "clear thing", I should have written that i had those figured out, My bad!

What i need to know is about splines and bearings etc, Because i can get another 9" from a friends pickup with 3.73 gears for cheap, And i want to know if i just can loosen the shafts and then rip the whole assembly out and replace with the one with 3.73, Without running into any trouble.

28 spline.

You WONT rip the whole thing out. Truck is leaf sprung vs. coil spring for your 65
.

Just see if his has 28 spline and get the center section from him..

Wildo, I was talking about the center section
I dont remember from which year the pickup is..

5851a, Thank you very much! The axel is original then, Nice to have it confirmed.. I just hope the center section from the pickup is a direct fit?
