Hello there everyone, I would be glad if someone could help me alittle here, These are the numbers from my tag of the rearend:

3.00 4HB 119.

The car is a 1965 500XL, 2dr HT.
It´s got the C5AW 4668A pinion support, With a large "cover" over the pinionsupport/yoke..

well you have 3.00 to 1 gear ratio in it... Pretty much a standard gear ratio for the Galaxies and T-Birds of the era....
Probably a 9" rear as well....

The 9" and 3.00 is a "clear thing", I should have written that i had those figured out, My bad!

What i need to know is about splines and bearings etc, Because i can get another 9" from a friends pickup with 3.73 gears for cheap, And i want to know if i just can loosen the shafts and then rip the whole assembly out and replace with the one with 3.73, Without running into any trouble.

You WONT rip the whole thing out. Truck is leaf sprung vs. coil spring for your 65

.

Just see if his has 28 spline and get the center section from him..

How do you know if you have a large bearing axle vs the small bearing? do 28 spline normally have the small bearings?

From the parts book WDC-K is 1965 full size 3.00 9 inch conventional 2 pinion 28 spline large wheel brg and large diff brg
4HB is the year, month, week, the 119 is the plant code.

I dont remember from which year the pickup is..
