I have a 68 coupe with a 289. I am new with fords and mustangs, so please bare with me. I have done some work on my car recently. I put a ne cam 204/214 nothing radical also I put a 4 barrel aluminum dual plane edelbrock intake with a 1 inch spacer plate, hedders, purple hornies exhaust, also I switched over to electronic ignition. The carb I have is a 750 holley and there is alot of debate about this carb being to big. What do you guys think? please give me any feedback on a starting point for jets and so on. oh yeah, a c-4 tranny and a 9"rear not sure ratio. thanks in advance...Justin

Yes it is too big, unless you have annular boosters. When my car still had the origional 289 I had done the same mods as you just without the cam swap, and I too had a 750 on there. I could never get it to run perfect. For you I would suggest a 600 of 650 holley. You can make the 750 run well but the throttle responce and low end will never be the same as it would with a slightly smaller carb.
