I got the motor and transmission that i plan on installing into my 87 mustang. They are a 351m/400 and a C-6 transmission. Iv read alots on a 351M/400 sounds like fun right. The only thing i dont know are will a 351c swap work? Like are the engine mounts the same can i use the 351c swap headers? im worried about the over 1 inch deck height will they still clear? dose anyone know if someone has done that swap before? Iv done the leg work on plans to get the motor to be a monster. Its just now see if thing will fit. lol i dont care how hard it is. The harder the job the more i will enjoy it when its done. If it gose right in and dont cause me hell, its to small. Thanks Agine you all rock

A 460 would be much more worthwhile than a 351M/400 swap and due to similar motor mount locations and overall dimensions nearly as easy.

The 351c pan will work but the mounts are totally different than any other Ford V8. Headers...you're on your own. The M blocks are as tall and wide as a 460...much taller/wider than a cleveland. You'll probably have to have custom header$. It'll fit...whether it's worth it or not is up to you. Basically, where a 400 fits, a 460 will go just as easily...and in this case, probably even easier.
